Stockholm, Küngliche Musikhogskolan

In January 2013 Van den Heuvel dismantled and packed the 25 stop organ (built by Van den Heuvel in 1995) at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. The current buildings are demolished next month. Afterwards new education rooms and a concert hall are build, all should be ready in approximately two years. Afterwards we will re-install the instrument.

Restoration Voltmann-orgel, Filzen (D)

Filzen frontThe inauguration of this restored organ will take place on Sunday January 27th 2013. Mr. Reinhold Schneck, Dekanatskantor and Organ Expert of the Trier Diocese will demonstrate the organ.

When Peter van den Heuvel in 2007 visited the Voltmann organ for the first time, there was already talk of a thorough restoration and reconstruction of the organ to the situation of 1884. After research and consultation with the advisor organ of the diocese, Mr Reinhold Schneck from Wittlich, Van den Heuvel-Orgelbouw recieved the contract to restore and preserve the organ after historical perspectives. The organ was dismantled in July 2012 and transferred to the workshops in Dordrecht.

Despite the idea that the organ of St. Joseph Church at first seemed almost unchanged, there appeared during further investigation in the workshops much has changed in the past 126 years. In consultation with the client and the consultant organ of the diocese, Mr Reinhold Schneck off Wittlich, the original Voltmann stoplist from 1884 is reconstructed. Missing pipes and disappeared stops are reconstructed in style and scales of Voltmann.

Her Majesty the Queen of The Netherlands appointed Jan L. van den Heuvel Knight of Orange-Nassau.

Mayor drs. Arno A. M. Brok handed Jan the Royal award and decorations after the inaugural concert of the new Van den Heuvel-organ in Dordrecht.

The organ case of this new two manual organ is from oak. The design is completely in style of the archtecture of this monumental church which dates from 1921. This instrument possess 24 stops and will be in general used for accompanying the hymn-singing. The sound combines elements of both Dutch and French-romantic styles.

Vaste Burcht kerk, Schiedam

The Van der Kley organ of the 'Vaste Burcht' church in Schiedam had water damage from a leaky roof. In particular, the Great soundboard was very wet. J. L. van den Heuvel Organ building was commissioned to repair the organ.

All the pipes of the Great were removed to gain access to the cones of the windchest. The windchest was cleaned and damaged cones were renewed. Also, all membranes of both manual chests were renewed. The pipework was inspected, cleaned and if necessary repaired before they returned on the windchest. The voicing was checked and corrected where necessary. The work was concluded with a general tuning of the organ.
