Assembly organ Sneek
The church council of the Protestant Congregation in Sneek has developed a plan to make the Martinikerk future-proof and multifunctional with a renovation. In the design by architect Kijlstra-Brouwer from Beetsterzwaag, the elliptical, green extension between the bell tower and the church building stands out. Much is being renovated and added on the inside. In 2021 the choir organ was disassembled and stored at the organ builder.
For the new location in the church building, the organ case had to be enlarged to accommodate the Soubasse, which previously stood invisibly in a niche in the wall behind the organ. The opportunity was taken to place the Montre (which was partly in the front and partly in the swell box) completely outside the swell box. The lead tubing for the offset pipes is renewed, the action revised and the voicing checked.
