This organ was built around 1900 by the London organ builder C.H. Walker with use of historical pipe work, wind chests en other parts dated from the period around 1860. Assumed is that those part are form Whiteley. De gothic styled organ case by Walker is painted in mahogany imitation to match the mahogany console. The mouths of display pipes are again gold plated during the recent restoration works. Notable are the bench and the closable console which are also dated back from 1860.
In February 2000 the organ was dismantled by Jardine's and Longstaff & Jones and stored at the British Historical Society who goals at a preserving of historical and special organs for future generations. Shortly after this organ was sold to Van den Heuvel together with a few other unique instruments.
In cooperation with the Society the decision was made to restore the organ back to the situation as Walker made it. The only additions are the wind motor and damping case. It is still possible to hand-pump this organ.
The wind pressure of the organ is 77mm. The pipe work is restored and the voicing is in the characteristic English style. The pitch is now 440Hz at 18°C. Consultant was Bernhard Leonardy.
