The organ builder Willem van Leeuwen and his organ in Renkum: Gerrit van Leeuwen Junior (1867-1946) was master organ builder at the company of organ builder Jan van Gelder. In 1903 he established himself as an independent organ builder. After Gerrit’ s death in 1946, his sons Gerrit and Willem (1902-1992) continued the company. In 1964 a merger followed with the Bernard Pels ailing company and the company name became Pels & Van Leeuwen. The Willem van Leeuwen organ (opus 526) in Renkum was inaugurated on June 2nd 1965. In 1984 Leeflang Organ Building from Apeldoorn overhauled and re-voiced the organ. After the merger of Leeflang with Reil, the organ was maintained by Reil Organ builders from Heerde (NL).
